Laser Excited Phosphor technology

WHAT IS LEP?

LEP (Laser Excited Phosphor) technology is an advanced illumination method that uses a blue laser to excite a phosphor material, converting the laser light into bright, broad-spectrum, incoherent white light. This process creates highly efficient, powerful light outputs from a very compact source. LEP systems are capable of projecting light over long distances with minimal loss of intensity, providing narrow beam angles without the need for large, bulky optics. This makes LEP ideal for applications requiring precision lighting in compact forms, such as in tactical, automotive, and industrial lighting.

FIREBIRD LEP

World's First High Luminance, Fully Integrated White Laser Light Emitter

Our LEP technology is the world’s first to achieve high luminance with fully integrated white laser light emission. This enables ultra-long beam distances and narrow beam angles from remarkably small optics. With luminance and efficacy exceeding typical LEDs by more than 100 times, our LEP systems provide unparalleled brightness in a tiny package, ensuring optimal performance where it matters most.

Dual-Channel Capability: IR + White Illumination

A major breakthrough in our LEP design is the dual-channel SMD, which combines high luminance white light and infrared emission from the same point source. This compact, multifunctional light source is safe and paves the way for the next generation of smart applications, offering both visible and IR capabilities in one device.

Ultra-High Luminance:

Over 1000 Mcd/m², delivering more than 100 times the luminance of standard LEDs.

Long-Lasting:

With a lifespan exceeding 10,000 hours, our LEP devices ensure minimal maintenance and fewer replacements over time.

Compact and Efficient:

The LaserLight SMD module, at just 7mm, punches well above its weight with a 500-lumen output and 1000 candela per square mm.

Versatile and Powerful:

Switchable between high-intensity blue light and safe, incoherent white light, providing flexibility across a range of applications.

Narrow Beam Angles:

Achieve beam angles of 2 degrees or lower without the need for bulky optics, thanks to our advanced phosphor technology.

Energy Efficient:

Maintains consistent efficacy with increasing power, eliminating traditional droop issues seen in other light sources.

Firebird Electro-Optics' LEP technology enhances visibility, efficiency, and performance. Its small size and high output enable innovative design opportunities, making it ideal for a variety of demanding environments.
